Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director General Saif Anwar Jappa mandated that private housing developments must first receive the authority’s no-objection certificate (NOC) before being advertised.
RDA (Government of Punjab) is a controlling agency that, following housing department directives, can, after the appropriate process, provide permission/NOC to private housing schemes and cases of land sub-division.
Without the RDA’s previous consent or permission, many developers frequently publicize their private home designs and cases of land subdivision.
RDA has previously brought up this issue with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take action against people and businesses that post television advertisements on social media to sell plots of unlawful and unapproved private housing schemes.
Additionally, the RDA DG has mandated the Building Control Wing to investigate the costs of approving illegal residential and commercial structures.
Due to his incapacity and lack of progress, Mr. Jappa served a show-cause notice to RDA Building Inspector Mohammad Bilal after discovering illegitimate structures built on City Villas Leh Nullah Road.
